communication with a Smart card

Hi,
can the Nokia 6131 NFC communicate with a Smart Card through APDU?

I know that it can reply APDU to a reader in Card Emulation mode, but I don't know if it can send APDU to a card, is it possible?

sorry,
as the Nokia NFC 6131 Programmers guide say on page 16 it can send thourgh the "javax.microedition.contactless.sc.ISO14443Connection".
