MediaException (Prefetch Error: -4) on Nokia N95

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to play a video (3gp) on J2ME application.
The video plays fine on few devices (Nokia N76 and few SonyEricsson devices).
The problem starts when I'm trying to activate the video on Nokia N95:

• First of all, the size of the video is not correct on both Nokia devices, but I've found that this is a known bug.
• N95 plays the video only for the first time (sometimes even not this). Each time after this first one the video is not played at all. Sometimes MediaException is thrown with the next message: "Prefetch error: -4".

I've also found a similar thread on this forum (http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=114040) - unfortunately no one replyed to that post (from August 2007).

I hope you will help me with this.

What is the firmware version of your N95 ? Is it a newer one ?

Also give a try with your application in an N95 in Remote Device Access

I've solved the original problem (smaller video and no player destruction in hideNotify of the Canvas - I think that the resources of the player were not really released for some reason).

I liked the general idea of using the RDA that you've advised in your reply, but couldn't make it work. I am not able to connect to the server - it says that the connection to localhost (?!) failed.

Do you know why is that so?

I am not sure about this issue, but will check with the RDA team and let you know.

..about RDA: I guess I won't be able to use it from work (the admins close everything here).
But I'll try it from home anyway - maybe it will be usefull for my non-work projects.

I happened to the same problem many time,
player = Manager.createPlayer(url);
I used the url for track that size are about 1.3M

but,some time past,player.prefetch() will be a exception:MediaException (Prefetch Error: -4) always

Please tell me the solution for my situation

N95,TheVersion is 10.0.0.018
