Thanks for asking. I do not know !
The provider "pbxes" has not activated phone-voicemail on my account, so I can not test this.
Instead I get vicemails forwarded to my email account, and im quite happy with this solution, so everything is good.
I have been using this setup today and find voice quality to be excelent, forwarding and transfer with codes (**97 etc) does not work, BUT the "options" under voipcalls (hold, forward, etc) on the 6300i works perfectly with the service (thats proberly better).
Ive got everything I asked for

ps. the codes could be a subject the day I get asterisk in the studio, and a voip-door-phone, as I would need it to forward the door-open command (I guess), but please do not post a solution to this .

What neither Nokia nor my SIP provider would tell me, I could get done through your support. I was able to configure my 6300i with my SIP provider parameters.
Bummer , could not connect to my SIP, since my ISP is blocking all SIPs.
Anyway getting around that?
I have a Siemens phone that seems to get around this problem, but all Nokia phones don’t.
Any Advice?

I have been trying to configure my 6300i to be used with Budgetphone.nl SIP account. I can not get it to work... It just will not connect to the service. In details i get a 403 error.

Can anybody help me by creating a correct configuration script?

I have these settings available from my provider;

Inlognaam (login) : bb1cXXXX
Wachtwoord (password) : 013-711XXXX
Domain: budgetphone.nl
Outbound proxy: sip.budgetphone.nl
Port 5060

If anyone could please help me with this issue, i could pay for the correct configuration script if necessary.

I know this is OT, but this is an active thread on VOIP on 6300i.

Due to this thread I got voip working on my 6300i.
Anybody in this thread having problems with wifi dropping now and then?

I'm having no problems with my macbook on my Asus with openwrt router, but my 6300i beeps once every hour or so saying it lost connection and reconnecting 1 minute later. Even if it sits right above the router.

My problem is that my 6300i, during a VOIP call, suddenly reboots. I have had this happen several times now.

I tried updating the firmware, but there is no new version available on the Nokia web site.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

Any advice?

sylvand, the 403 indicates that the SIP network gets the SIP message but cannot process it for some reason. Can you share the XML you are using and having this problem ?

sam_mood, can you share your XML you are using ? What kind of settings does the Siemen phone have which works ?

To all that need some more help: I've done it all by just editing the "Series_40_VoIP_v72_Settings_Example.xml" with my IP, user and passwd settings then simply convertign it from xml to .prov and finaly sending it over bluetooth to the phone. So, it came out it's pretty easy actually.

Guys i edited the xml file i renamed in .prov file (rename only is ok??) BUT I Sent it via bluetooth.. and nokia said "INVALID SETTINGS FILE.. FILE REJECTED" ... Pleeeeeeease help me

Hi minazzz,

You need to convert the .xml file to .wbxml and rename the .wbxml to .prov and then send the .prov to the phone via BT. see the beginning of the thread for step by step guide.

This seems to work.
1) take S40 VoIP v72 example and modify it
2) Make the libwbxml with the patch
3) make .prov file with xml2wbxml.exe tool from your xml file
4) scan and connect 6300i via Bluetooth.
5) send the .prov file to the connected 6300i

i dont understand how i can do these steps... can you just tell me the program to download for doing those? i have windows vista ... i edited the file "example-etc" i want the next steps... if you could tell me it would be pleasant from you thank you a lot

I have been following this thread with great interest as I too have bought the Nokia 6300i, specifically to use it with my existing account with a voip-provider that is NOT Gizmo5 - what a bummer!!!!!!! I actually wonder if this is a cheap trick from Nokia to sell more phones... Talking to support doesn't bring much hope of getting help by the way of a firmware-upgrade. Have looked at the proposed method of constructing a xml-file and sending it to the phone, but I am not sure precisely what to alter in the example xml-file. If anyone could send me an altered xml-file that has made it possible to create a new sip-account on 6300i it would be greatly appreciated. I could then compare it to the example-file.

asbri, in this thread there are several examples. If those are not enough, we would need the name of your provider (a webpage would be a plus).
Furthermore, this has nothing to do with the firmware of your 6300i. Your provider has to partner with Nokia and place their configuration at Nokia’s site. If your provider cannot partner, they should consider to send (Nokia) configurations as SMS themselves. If your provider does not like to send SMS, it is your job. Anyway, Nokia could make it easier, much easier, … well.
