how to get the Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI)??

hi everyone i`m need to find the way to extract at least the Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) in a phone, because i`m working in a location phone project. someone knows how can i get this information..people say me that Sysinfo is a way but i didn`t find the source code to release that, anothers told me about NetMonitor and Cell track but those are not open source so i can´t use then now i´m listen about CTelephony!!...please if anyone know a way to extract that information fron a cellphone tell me!!!

do you mean this system property:

com.nokia.mid.networksignal = Current (GSM/CDMA) network signal strength. The output format is as follows: <the number of bars the phone should display>( <the signal strength in dBm>dBm).

thanks for your answer but with this command i get only the signal from the base-station that provide service to the phone...for a location apliccation i need at least 3 signal o rssi, i know that the sim card save this information (for handovers situation) but i don´t know how to get it.. that is my real problem...do you know a way?

Did you get the networksignal command to work? I need to use it, but it is not working. It returns null

I remember that ,i read something like that before

you should search on something called

MSISDN (it is file on SIM card contains info related to u )

i guess u can get it using
Security and Trust Services API for J2ME (SATSA); JSR 177

Networksignal gets the number of bars (reception) you have. I'll look at the link you gave me.
