Console application not running on Nokia 6210 Navigator and Nokia E61

I have written console application for key press detection.No syntax error,code is working fine on emulator.I have also made sis file.i installed that sis file on Nokia E61 handset and Nokia 6210 Navigator.But there is error that application is not compatible with both phones.

i want to ask that is it the case that console applications do not run on mobile device????how to run my console application on these devices?? Pls help me

E61 is a S60 3rd device based on Symbian 9.1 OS, use S60 3rd MR to compile and then use this binaries to install and see if it works.

What is the exact error message you get, and when? Installation time? Upon clicking on the icon of your program?
There is a compatibility message which offers continue and quit in installation time, that can be fixed via adding a platform/device ID as pre-requisite in the .pkg file (check any examples).

Yes, all S60 devices are capable of running console based executables. http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=110301 contains an example for a working code.

Who knows? You have not given some proper description of your problems, it may happen that you are installing Windows binaries to the device, it may also happen that you are using an incompatible SDK (you can check SDK compatibility on www.forum.nokia.com/devices), or anything else.

i installed my sis file on Nokia 6210 Navigator.I go the folder on the device where my sis file is copied.Then i double click the sis file ,then msg popped asking 'Do u want to install LongKeyPressEXE?'I clicked on yes.

Then it showed me details like Name,version,supplier Vendor etc etc.. I clicked on continue

Then it showed security warning saying 'Application is for development only.Continuing installation may cause serious problems to ur device.Continue?'... I clicked on Yes

And here comes the msg saying that 'Application not compatible with phone.Continue anyway? If i clicked on no then installation canceled and if i clicked yes then installation completes but there is nothing available in the installations folder.

wt should i do??I checked about Nokia 6210 Navigator on the link u provided,it has series 60 3rd edition FP2 SDK,i am using same...Now help me...

How do you execute the program in the emulator? Have you set Carbide to run it directly, or do you have an icon for that?
In the other link I have provided the following parts are "responsible" for having an icon:
- The complete HelloWorld_E000ABDE_reg.rss contains the description for the icon, important parts are the UID and the filename
- HelloWorld.mmp "compiles" the icon

- HelloWorld.pkg installs the icon

i started the emulator and automatically application started..i hadn't done any setting with carbide to the my knowledge.but there is an icon for my application in the installations folder in the emulator.

and whatever u had written in the last reply,i didn't understand anything.What exactly steps my code should contain regarding mmp and pkg file??

and basic question remain as it is.Y that error msg saying application is not compatible with the device is shown???

You do not have a registration file which would help you have an icon in the application folder that you can launch.
Search for registration file in examples typically xxx_reg.rss and remember to package it (add in pkg) as shown by wizard above.
