<select> element rendering?

How is the &lt;select&gt; list supposed to be rendered in Nokia phones?

The Nokia XHTML Guidelines (June 2002) page 43 shows it as a pull-down list.
The Nokia emulator renders the same code as a series of radio buttons.
The Openwave emulator renders them as pull-down lists.

The different representations would have a major impact on the layout of the screen.

Additionally I would like to say, that please note the Nokia XHTML phones render the select element similarily.

But yes, we all agree that Nokia phones and all simulators should render elements the same way.
