Is j2me polish a good choice for designing a generic application at low level

hi,

I want to do an application in j2me which required good UI to be displayed.

I have a good knowledge in j2me and also comfortable in using canvas.

Now as i need an application to be built with rich ui i saw that in j2me polish we can just use css for very rich ui.

But i facing some problems in j2me polish like fullscreen compatability for all midp2.0 devices and also it seems that it is device specific.

so hence i want to know before i start building my application which one is best whether to built using j2me polish or just using canvas.

Hi basu,

as from my experience, there is not a best option for all tasks, but it depends a lot on the application needs.

For complex interfaces it's usually better to use some UI framework to handle the whole, while for simpler ones you can try to build it by your own on simple Canvas. But, of course, this is not a rule

Also, be aware of licensing terms of each framework, since many of them are free for non-commercial purposes, but require a license purchase if you plan to sell your application.
