Application Upgrade

Hi all,
Here is the scenario that I need to cover, I have applicationA version1 installed on the device. Presently applicationB launches applicationA version1 ONLY at the main tab.
In the future it shall be possible to launch applicationA version2 from applicationB at different tab for example once on the main tab and sometime on the second tab. My questions are:-
Is it possible to launch applicationAv2 with different tab in focus?
How can applicationB differentiate between version1 and version2 of the applicationA both version have same UID to ensure upgrading of app.

Hi,

I understand your requirement but on device there cannot be two applications with same UID and having different versions. But however you have build flags in the same application which behaves as the version 2 types you are talking about.

Let me try to clarify again:-
I agree with you there can be only one version of applicationA so after upgrade it will be version2 ONLY but how can i 'inform' applicationB that the version2 has been installed.

Hi vivek,

I am not sure this is the best way or not you could set different caption TApaAppCaption in your _reg.rss file so that you could use RApaLsSession::GetAppInfo to get the caption name and then do accordingly.
