The usual 8310 modem...but

Hi,
i've a strange problem: after new firmware on 8310 and reinstallated W98, i can't try to use the 8310 Modem.
I've redownloaded modem setup driver, i've installed it, all work fine, also Data suite, and the modem is listed in windows modem, but, it doesn't work !! also in diagnostic panel for modem, if i can try to use modem, nothing, the modem isn't correct installed, but i just tried several times, to disinstall e reinstall it, but always the same problem...
It sems weel configured on ifrared virtual com, but nothing...
Who can help me ?
