n96 + sensors

Hi,

Has anyone had any luck getting sensors to work on the n96?
When I install axyz the demo script that came with it couldn't find the module itself.
If I try to use the builtin sensor module it imports fine but doesn't seem to contain any sensors method.

Hi psinno,

I'm not sure, but I think that current axyz/sensor module are not prepared for the new devices(N96, E66 etc) with accelerometer sensor. Some days ago I read this post at Symbian-Freak and it explains why. The devices with FP2 and 5800 XpressMusic with 5th edition bring a new Sensor Framework, that is different from the sensor libraries used in FP1 devices. Please read the link I gave above for more details.

Yes rafael T is right
N96 is 3rd edition FP2 which doesn't support nor plugin (aXYZ) nor API (sensors). Sensor framework work with N96 but no pyS60 wrapper exist for it
Perhaps in the new long awaited PyS60 version ?

Hi Cyke,

I'm also waiting for this new PyS60 version and hopefully it will bring us the new Sensor Framework

I also hope to see aXYZ extension updated with the new framework!
