Error on receiving an SMS

I am trying to receive SMS on a particular port (5000). The app works well, except that for some messages, it doesn't trigger at notifyincomingmessages(). I am sending a normal text message.

has anyone come across a similar problem (may be with the text format, special characters, length of the msg)? What may be the reasons and solution for the same?

Yeah you make sure these points -
@ length of sms <= 160 chars
@ receiving should be on the different thread,
@ The same port must be listen, as the sending one

All the 3 conditions are being met.

Is it something related to the type of characters allowed in a text message, as I am using special characters such as ^, '.

Hi,
Well,while I was sending/Receiving the SMS, was not sending the special chars...So I do not have so much of idea about it...
However if I am not wrong and mu mind remember it perfectly,you can not send the same without parsing/changing the format of the special chars...

please try this without these chars...
