VAS 2.0 published

Hi,
VOIP Audio Service (VAS) API 2.0 has been published for S60 5.0 devices. In 2-3 days Forum Nokia will publish it for S60 3.2 devices.

The interface is binary compatible, but the SIS file is preinstalled to the ROM in the S60 5.0 devices. For 3.2 devices, you would need to embed the VAS into your package and install it in addition to your application.

Initial comments say that voice quality has been improved thanks to new error concealment feature in VAS.

If not, Is there a ways to use the jitter buffer with FP1 devices?

What is the purpose of the included partial upgrade SIS package ? For me, it fails to install on Nokia 5800 with a USER 130 panic.

So, an application/DLL built with VAS 1.x should be binary compatible with a VAS 2.0 device ?

Hi nly, I will be definitely able to generate some feedback, but only after the version for S60 3.1 and 3.2 will be out ... I have 3 devices with that version of S60, but none with S60 5.

What is the current deadline for publishing VAS for 3.2?

Will the 3.2 version be usable for 3.1, as it was the case with VAS 1.0?

Ya... I did.. For 3.2, it still has VAS 1.0.

And the VAS 1.0 doesnt sound good on N78. I even tried updating the phone firmware. The incoming voice sounds like it comes from a long distance away...
