Forwading a message to Inbox

Hi,

I have a message application, when a message is sent my application starts and it receives the message,but i want the message which is received to come inside the Normal Inbox rather than my application.

Is there any way i can do it.Please help me.

Hi Nagesh,
Please do not receive the sms on the specific port...the same you must be sending the sms..or listen on the post 0.then sms time of the receiving will be sent to the inbox..

please check that whether this can help you,

Message sending application should send the message with just the phone number and not any specific port. For instance if your sending application sends message at 55000 port then remove that and send the message just to the phone number.

By doing so you will be able to receive message on mobile inbox and not in application. Hope it helps

I tried this method, it works i get the message to the Normal Inbox but in my code while receving the message, im doing some checks for the message contents,which is not getting reflected if i get a message in my Normal inbox.

Hi,
its obvious that if u receive sms to native inbox then u cant get access over there. so whatever u program to do regarding that received sms will not work coz ur application cant access native inbox. Better is to receive sms from ur application.

Hey Chetana, The message will only be received by one, either by your app or by the system. if you are not listening on the port then what ever sms comes will go directly to inbox.

send the sms without port...or as jitu suggest send on port 0.
or follow this,
MessageConnection conn= ( MessageConnection )( Connector.open ( address ) );
TextMessage msg = (TextMessage) conn.newMessage (MessageConnection.TEXT_MESSAGE);
msg.setAddress (address);
msg.setPayloadText ( messageType );
conn.send (msg);

That wat i expected will be the method, but as far i can think Chetana is asking to push sms to inbox not send it... sending will incur sms cost. So i was thinking there must be some SMS listener of system, cant we directly push sms to it so that it gets sms and puts it in inbox.

I understand that,he is asking for receiving the sms..but if there is no API for a specific thing then you can not directly implement...you will be start think to look another indirect way...thats what I suggest..

Ya Raj got u, but tell me cant we do any thing which i wrote in my last post. if some how we can send sms to some port where the system application is listening. thats a way but i tried some thing like that but no result. By the way its she not he. :-)

Hi Nagesh,
I thought one more thing is that ask your SMSC (server) team to send the two sms one on the port you are listening with..ok
and another without the port...
Forgive me if this is not a good solution..

Yeah Raman,what you are thinking of is correct but the thing is the implementation...i guess a solution is that,which works...
