    I've seen comments that the 1.9.4 SDK has problems installing, but tried doing so anyway. Following instructions on the Wiki, I installed Java 6, Active Perl, the C++ toolkit, the CSL toolchain and the Python SDK. All went as expected. I can get the emulator up and running, but when I try to run python, I get a Menu: System error (-2).

    The only thing I can find that looks a little screwy, is that the Wiki says that the PyS60 should unpack to:

    c:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32

    whereas the Python_1.9.4_SDK_3rdEdFP2_with_OpenC.zip I got from maemo unzips to:

    c:\Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1\epoc32

    Is there a problem with the zip not being at the right level?

    Cheers Steve

    You should place the zip under the respective SDK's folder and then unzip it with the option "Extract here".
    import antigravity

    Thanks for your suggestion.

    That's essentially what I did, and now I've done exactly that but still get the error.

    I found an error list, but -2 was a generic message and not much help.

    I tried installing a later SDK (5th Ed) and it works as expected now. Maybe 1.9.4 has dependencies on S60 5Ed.

    No, PyS60 1.9.4 does not have dependencies on 5th Ed SDK. Please check again and if the behavior is the same then please log a bug.
