Well. I know its kinda late. But , i do have the right answer. To our disappoint , nokia doesn't offer any tools or ways to create media player skins. Even if you manage to reverse engineer the skins and create one on your own, they will need manufacturer or operator signing. So practically only nokia can create skins for their devices. I still don't get why nokia is keeping such an interesting feature of their S40 devices closed.
However, there is hope. You can use skins obtained from other devices of the same s40 platform and use it in your device. For eg, all s40v5 skins are intercompatible. However , v6 is not compatible with v5 and vice versa due to a signature difference.
Many v5 skins are available on net. But i haven't seen any v6 skins anywhere, though i have quite a collection of them. Also new s40 theme carbide.ui has support for embeding skins in themes.

I got Nokia X2-00 S40 handset recently, I found lot of themes on the net but when i install them the media player is showing basic theme only. Are there any way to skin the media-player.
