7250 image files access

Hi,

i'm trying to make an application that sends an email with image attachement.
I want to be able to access the images that were taken with the camera and stored in the nokia 7250 gallery folders.

is there any way to access thoes files from a midlet ?

if there is no way to access them from java applications, is there any work around regardint this ?

i would appreciate your help (links, docs, etc).

Hello,

As far as I know, in MIDP 1.0 access the native resource is imposible, that's because the security reason of the device and the "SandBox" feature of the MIDlet in the device. So you can't retrieve a photo from the gallery and send it through a MIDlet.

A workaround is to use the MMAPI, by which you can create a MIDlet that takes a photo from the camera and send it through HTTPconnection or store it into the RMS.

there is not listed MMAPI support for 7250 !
are you sure it has support for MMAPI ?

the 7650 has this feature enabled but not the 7250 !

are there any examples of java code, which make use of the mmapi ?
