Camera for barcode reading

Hi,

I am doing some 2d barcodes for a clothing company for a marketing campaign. The barcode should be read with a mobile phone.

Does anyone know how I determine what size the barcode should be for the phone to read it?

I assume that the megapixel of the camera determine how small the barcode can be, but are there other things that matter? Like software, etc?

As I understand the standard for the nokia code is datamatrixes, if I use a QR code will this matter on the readability?

As far as i'm concered the 2d-Bar Code reading is not included in the jsr257.

I'm planning to integrate the information read in the barcode with a database os files. I gave a look in "Zebra", and I saw that this did a search on the web looking for what the barcode means. There is some other that i can read the barcode and use the recognition to after relate with itens in a database? through the camera.

you should be able to implement offline validation of these 2d barcodes as well.
