SDK Emulator problem: "Cannot start Ecmt Manager"

Hi,

Not sure the correct forum to post this in, but I am using the WRTKit to write my app

I setup a machine with (fresh install) WinXP, the activestate perl version required, java 1.6.0_17 and installed the SDK. The emulator launches and after about a minute or two (!) I am able to access menu items, but whenever I click anything under the Tools menu other than Switch Configuration I get the error "Cannot start Ecmt Manager". I have seen the page "http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/Emulator_issues_and_solutions" that refers to this specific problem and have set the config.properties to use:

epdt.java.version.start=1.4.1,1.4.2,1.5,5.0,1.6,6.0

and also
epdt.java.version.start=1.6,6.0
(as I only have 1.6 on the machine)

Ok, thats what the link you mentioned was about. A Little more discussion on that had happened in http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=96937 So take a look at it. It should work.

OK - that fixed it. I followed the instructions from this linked blog post:

Basically, you need to download and copy the msvcr71.dll to the same directory as the ecmtman.exe. (probably should be in the faq)
