Debugger abnormal termination

Each time I try to debug my application I receive a Visual C++ Runtime error (abnormal program termination) and then a pop-up with description:
"Error creating session: Failed to connect to Carbide.c++ Debugger Engine; named pipe not available"
Any help??

Make sure to have Carbide.c++ v2.1 or later. If the problem persists create a bug report using Carbide.c++'s Help -> New Bug Report... menu.

The latest version of Carbide I find in Tools section is 2.0 which I already have.

We will update that soon, but if you read the sticky note added to this forum, [news] Symbian Foundation's ADT v1.4 released, includes Carbide.c++ v2.3, you will find that the latest Carbide.c++ version is available from Symbian Foundation's site.

Thanks for answer. I downloaded SDK and ADT but I cannot unzip ADT. It is not recognized as an archive, I've tried twice, with the same result.

I don't know what you are downloading but the ADT 1.4 package is an exe based installer, ADT_v1.4.exe, not a zip.

I've downloaded this following link you gave me. Both ADT and SDK are .zip files. In this case, I've just had to change the extension.
Please, verify this link.

The link I gave you is to a ADT download page where there is a link to an exe. I have given you no SDK link and no additional SDK is needed to solve the problem you were having (separate thread).

What browser are you using? I have noticed that the server may send some wrong mime type information with the package but on my side both FF and IE are able to save the file properly, as an exe, and it runs without problems.

If the problem persists and can be reproduced you should create a bug report at the Symbian Foundation.

yesterday only i downloaded the new ADT from the lucians link and that was working good for me.

i feel olmaryan might have followed a diffrent link by mistake, youi can again try by directly going to this page http://developer.symbian.org/main/to...kits/index.php.

Download of an SDK was completely my idea.
Anyway, I use Opera 10.10; I downloaded SDK and ADT from the page indicated by gaba88. BOTH of them as .zip files. While SDK I retrieved and installed without any problems, Win zip, Winrar, ZipGenius poped me up the message about corrupted archive. I've downloaded the file again - same story. Just before going to check Itomuta's response I've simply changed the extension file I've downloaded and it worked fine immediately.
Seems that there is a problem with Opera then, you may try reproduce it but from my side browser wants to save always .zip file. By the way; is SDK a .zip or exe?

sdk is an zip file and you can get that from the tools section of forum nokia and ADT is an exe.

I guess it will be fixed soon but anyhow, now we know and everybody can download the tool after paying a bit of attention to what the browser does.

I would like to come back to the source of all this story: I still have a problem launching debug of any application in carbide. Debugger stops at 61% and pops up a window Visual C++ Runtime error. When I close this window, after few minutes I have another window, saying "Error creating session Failed to connect Carbide C++ Debugger engine. Named pipe not available. Seems that all problems I had were caused by particular notebook enviroment. I installed same SDK with ADT on PC and everything works fine. Thanks for help/Cheers.
