    Hi,
I've created a small app which uses J2ME controls to allow the user to enter text, select a date etc.

On the emulator it works fine. When I install it on my Nokia 5800, though, the behaviour of those controls is not consistent: in some cases you touch the control and you are able to edit it, in some others a blue circle starts appearning and if you keep pressing a context menu will eventually appear. I don't need any context menus, so I would just like to disable this feature for my app... how do I do it?

    Thanks,
    Marco

    Hello Marco,

sounds bit like this Known Issue: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...60_5th_Edition

So in case of a related issue, the solution is to update your device sw (as defined on the referred Known Issue, under 'Solution').

Regarding context menus: LCDUI elements in Touch UI on Forum Nokia Java Developer's Library provides insight on when the context specific options menu will be prompted (depending on the LCDUI element, usually touch down and hold suffices).

In addition, you might want to check this eSWT API example MIDlet (with source code) on Forum Nokia Java Developer's Library: eSWT Showcase
