thanks for heads up. do you know if the WRTKit UI library functions with phonegap or would we need to port to another javascript UI framework like jquery or something?

Good question. From what I understand about WRTKit, it is simply a set of javascript & css ui libraries, and does not access any native WRT functionality. Therefore, it should work just fine within the PhoneGap framework and across the other platforms. However the UI elements in WRT kit would likely be geared towards Nokia resolutions/pixel densities, so they may not have the same appearance on iPhone, Palm, etc.

The questions is more if the device will support jquery. In most cases PhoneGap uses the native on-device browser engine. So in most cases if the device browser supports jquery, so will PhoneGap. In select implementations (the in-development Symbian Qt implementation, for example), webkit is packaged with PhoneGap.

So to answer your question, yes I believe all of the browser engines are modern enough to support jQuery, except maybe WinMo :P.
