    Hi,
I am new in QT application development in symbian platform, Is it possible to port my developed application to Blackberry ? In other words, Is it possible to run the Qt application (developed in symbian platform) in Blackberry ?
Any pointer regarding this will be highly appreciable.

    Thanks in Advance.

I would say it revolves around 3 questions:
    1. Is there a Qt for Blackberry? (I don't know if there is or isn't.)
    2. Is the existing code written in a reasonably platform-independent fashion? (It's possible, even with Qt, to embed a lot of platform dependencies that make code non-portable.)
    3. Assuming that Blackberry has a Qt implementation, is it reasonably usable without having to specialize the code to that platform?

I dont thik there must be Qt for blackberry because of the reason that blackberry provides only Java as the only option, and not C++.

It should be noted that Qt and Java have significant similarities, and one could in theory design a metalanguage that was translatable to either, with halfway reasonable efficiency and power for the purely computational stuff. But there are significant differences (though not exceptionally drastic) between the UIs of the two languages, so that would take some finesse to manage.

There are Java bindings for Qt named Qt Jambi so you can develop Qt applications in Java. But I have to add there is nothing in internet search, which looks like port of Qt to Blackberry platform.

    Hi Dan,
having done some BB coding, I am not sure if it would be possible to make a GUI metalanguage. Too much GUI code to handle - maybe a LightHouse-style port would work better.

Yeah, like I said the purely computational stuff is easy. It's the UI (and, to a lesser extent, other system interfaces) that is the tough nut. A common scheme could be developed for a limited subset of functions fairly easily, but probably not something that would capture the full richness of the different platforms.

I would suggest you do this question in the appropriate forum: Qt on BlackBerry and QNX

Also bare in mind that you will be using the BlackBerry Native SDK.
