Audio Problem - 8 bit wav

Dear Devs,

I am trying to mix sound
using the example here: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...-channel_audio

the code works fine.
My problem is with audio.
I created my audio with Goldwave
and saved it to 8-bit mono wav, just like the example suggests.

However, I am getting a distorted sound!

Is there a special way I should move 8 bit sounds from the pc to the phone?

The

part apparently assumes that your audio data is 8-bit, unsigned. Check if Goldwave has such option.

Goldwave does that, but the result is not **istenable**
I copied the wav files from the SoundMixed example
into my project, and they work fine.

I guess I need to find a better audio tool

Goodmorning,

This is what wavlab understands when opening
the sample wav files from Nokia's sample mixer example:

"file format: unknown"
"properties: stereo 16 bit, / 0 KHz"
"Length: -1ms / 0 B"

Please throw some light on this...

Dear Devs,

I managed to make correct 8 bit sounds:
Recorded something, then saved it with 8 bit mono 16KHz unsigned using Wavelab.

The problem now is the sound quality and the artifacts.
I borrowed from the wiki soundmixer example.

when mixing notes on different "channels", the sound quality is very bad, and artifacts are heard.

Is there any other technique or practice for playing/mixing sounds in higher quality?
