    Hi,

I'm starting my studies on HTML 5 and i'm very happy with i'm seeing. Some examples in http://www.canvasdemos.com/.

But there is no support for HTML 5 yet. Am i right?

Now my question. When HTML 5 will be supported in S60 devices? Is there a roadmap?

    Cheers

The roadmaps are often not public, anyway, as HTML5 is one of the main standards, you could assume it to be supported in some extend in near future.

    Ok,

Then, I'm waiting for this extend.

Will be great to do OpenGL graphics in WRT.

You'll probably have to wait until at least 2011 to get built-in HTML5 support in any Nokia device. As far as I'm aware, Symbian^3 doesn't have a browser with HTML5 support, so you need to wait for first Symbian^4 to be announced, then for Symbian^4 to be released, then for a Symbian^4 based device to be announced, and finally for the devices to actually become available.

Someone, like Opera, might make a browser version available with HTML5 support before there's built-in support in Symbian OS itself.

In theory, Nokia might also make an "upgraded" browser available for their Symbian^3 or even Symbian 9.4/S60 5th Edition or earlier versions, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that.

Even if it is supported i doubt it will be useable as S60 Devices are always seriously underpowered in regards of CPU and available RAM.

Luckily there are no S60 devices anymore, since S60 was the Nokia UI, and now it is all Symbian..

There are plenty of S60 devices still around, and when new Symbian^4 devices eventually come (Symbian^3 still supports S60 stuff, even if it is no longer called S60), which no longer have separate S60 APIs/libraries, they can still be "underpowered".

And in either case, it is the browser selection/technology that determines the HTML5 support or lack thereof.

yep, the point is that Symbian 5th edition is already called Symbian^1 and not S60, S60 formerly Series60 was Nokia UI, and Symbian is not using the naming anymore.
