[Moved] Emulator error. Please Help.

hello,

i am using 3rd edition FP2 v 1.1 emulator. when i open installation folder it showing error "Menu: System error (-06)". what is the problem... i an not able to open any application

please help.

KErrArgument is -6 error reason.
well you can remove the folder \epoc32\winscw\c\private
or rename it ,u can either remove the persistent files from \epoc32\winscw\c\private\10202be9\persists
folder and try running epoc again.
If this doesn't work you need to reinstall the sdk.

no its not work. may be i need to reinstall SDK.

well i have another question. i have update my application from old one and installed on my device, but my device does not show the update application, it shows the old application. i have uninstall it and also restart my device.

what is the prob?

please help.

If it happened after creating some new application, check and remove its registration file from Epoc32\release\winscw\udeb\z\private\10003a3f\apps - ordering the files by date can make it easier. And also have a look into Epoc32\release\winscw\udeb\z\private\10003a3f\import\apps, having files in that folder may cause problems for the emulator.

i have removed the registration file from Epoc32\release\winscw\udeb\z\private\10003a3f\apps. but still same prob... i installed into my device still it showing the same not updated application.

and there is no import folder in path Epoc32\release\winscw\udeb\z\private\10003a3f\import\apps

You may consider re-installing the SDK then. It is a good idea to make a backup of the entire epoc32 folder after a fresh install, since it is much faster to restore it than do a complete uninstall-reinstall cycle.
