We were wondering if there is interest amongst the community here for Ovi Store to support the Dynamic Licensing model as do BlackBerry App World, Handango and MobiHand.

If you are a developer who publishes on Ovi Store, and would benefit from greater control over your licensing and anti-piracy implementation, we've established a cooperative petition to Ovi Store to introduce Dynamic Licensing. Visit http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/licmax.

If we collect a significant number of signatures from the community, we'll approach contacts inside Nokia to elevate this agenda.

You are right. We should have picked a different name for the petition.

For the record, we fully endorse competition and options for developers. True, we strive to provide the best in a licensing services ourselves. But we also offer open source code for the algorithms we use, literature on mobile app licensing alternatives, literature on anti-piracy, and we participate at conferences to present such material in non-promotional venue. Our mission is to participate in the establishment and enrichment of comprehensive mobile app licensing infrastructure for the benefit of the developers and the industry as a whole.

With that, your point is well taken, and we hope you might find the prospect of Dynamic Licensing on Ovi Store appealling as well!
