When we have an application ready for official signing, how does the non-development UID get assigned and inserted into the sis file? I don't see any mention of that anywhere. Is it done automatically in the signing process, or do we need to build the sis file with that UID in it?

Also, is there a decent, step-by-step set of instructions for the whole signing process. For instance, I seem mention of the "Content ID", but no suggestion of how that is used in the process (other than it costs you 10 euros).

Your application will not be changed in any way during the signing process. So you have to send the version which already uses the 'production' UID-s. Note that for final checking of your application you should already use the final UID, and have the application Open Signed On/Offline-d. Typical places for UID-s: .mmp file, _reg.rss file, .pkg file and AppDllUid method.
The Wiki contains some guide, if you are aiming for Express Signed, search for express. The Symbian Signed website should also contain something.

But where do you get the UIDs?? I've not seen any description of the process for doing that.

Until you're registered with Symbian Signed you can't see most of that stuff.

And, frankly, since Symbian.org redid their wiki stuff, it's been impossible to find anything.

But I did figure it out:

    Register with SymbianSigned.

    Go to SymbianSigned.com

Sign and click "My Symbian SIgned"

Click "UIDs" and "Request" on the left
