    Hi all,

I am a little confused about the new nokia announcement regarding new signing policies that are supposed to attract more developers to the symbian platform.

I have read this link about capabilities:
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/Capabilities

and I have read this new signing policy announcement:
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/Distribut...xhtml#article0

I am trying to understand the change -
    1. is it that before the "Certified Signed" capabilities required ~200$ + 4 weeks of processing and now they can be done in 0$+0 time with an online action like express signing before ?

    2. does this mean that if today i want to write an application that aquires the GPS pos and sends it via umts/WIFI i can do this with 0$+ 0 time option ?

    3. same as #2 but for an app that records phone calls ?

    1) Perhaps we are following different ways of reading, but I see 2 weeks and express signed-equivalence. The 0$ is true, you can check Kiran's story for example (http://blogs.forum.nokia.com/blog/ki...-success-story)
    2) No, it means that you have not read the announcement carefully. For the use case itself, yes. However it is also true that starting from S60 3rd FP2 Location capability is user grantable (and NetworkServices has always been), so this use case would work with self-signing for newer devices. Where newer means ~2 years old
    3) It depends on the capability requirements for that. If MultimediaDD happens to be required, the answer is no.
