keyPressed() and other Key Events handler are not called

I need your suggestions, feedback , verified results and the solution if possible...

I am facing an critical issue related to the key code which I am not able to get, details are as below,

Devices Which Were Tested With
Nokia E63. Nokia E71

Device Developer Platform
S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1

Device Operating System
Symbian OS v9.2

Keys of Which Code Was Not Returned
Ctrl and chr

I would appreciate if you guys can make this thing as confirmed after a valid testing cycle,on either or all the devices mentioned above. I know this cannot be possible to get the device for a test cycle however if anyone of you folks had this issue and/or fixed in some way.

I would appreciate you confirmation and thankful for all your time and energy.

This is the known issue. Devices with QWERTY keyboard don't return the key Codes inside the keyPressed method of canvas class for a certain keys like Function key, ctrl/Chr key.
I had faced this issue earlier working with such devices. Although I haven't read this known issue documented anywhere. Let any Nokia guy come to comment on it

Me also getting same issue on e71. Still no workaround over net also. Please provide some solution if anybody can.

It's a known Issue for Nokia E63 & E71, the possible workaround can be using a small Symbian background app which can act as helper to your J2me app and pass this key event to it.

I am waiting for the much more replies/confirmation from the other champions and even everybody on the DiBo, so that this can be declare as the known device issue.

How symbian helper backgroun app will know which & when J2ME application needs this particular keycode?
Can you please upload the symbian helper app and the sample j2me app which will prove this?

I have tested it on e72 also but still getting same problem. Might be its a known issue. If anyone has solution regarding this then please feel free to contribute.

This issue persists with these devices as i said earlier and people are confirming it also. So the only thing will do as Raj is waiting for - Any Nokia guys have to come forward and speak over here to accept this as a confirmation!

Yeah you are quite correct and yes I am waiting for the moment when any Nokia Expert come forward and declare this as the device known issue.
