Image flickering

What is your solution to avoid image flickering in widgets? This is bugging me since my widget UI is rich in graphics and navigating to pages / tabs is followed by flickers until image loads. I've tried with perfomTransition, but it still flickers. Any ideas?

Bonus question: When I exit my widget and switch to homescreen view, widget takes 4-5 seconds to update to new view. Is it my code, or it's just normal?

for flickering, if you suspect that it is caused by image loading, you could try preloading the images beforehand, here's one example: http://daniloercoli.wordpress.com/20...-on-nokia-wrt/
