WebTV Flash sample problem

I am trying to test the WebTV Flash Lite 4 sample app by itself and it's not working out of the box.
Do I need to look/change specific code to make it work?

I am trying to run the Flash player in standalone mode as it contains various streams in the code.
Need to check again if that is even possible given the fact that there is a wrt project. But my impression was that it could have been done.
Correct?

Ah,

The URL to play is passed from JavaScript to ActionScript via externalInterface. You need to open the FLA and edit it to play a fixed URL to be able to see it working as standalone.

I also would like to create a simple, small Widget that playes static .flv content from the web over http/rtp.. perhaps mp4v & mp3 also... how, these monstreus samples are useless!

content is generated by other means (php calls etc..)

Thank you for this well considered and above all kind feedback...
I guess you simply need to read the documentation and create a less "monstreus" widget yourself.
Or, you can ask me nicely and I can send you the one I made earlier
