3rd/5th edition > Symbian^3 ??

Hi there,

someone knows if an application compiled with sdk 3rd MR edition or 5th edition runs on Symbian^3 ? is there any compatibility ? (as an app compiled with 3rd runs on 5th)

I have done several application that are compiled with 3rd ed MR SDK and they are working just fine with 5th ed & symbian^3. Thus it is possible, but you do need to test it with all platform versions. Also some tweaking might be needed to get the touch screen working nicely on project originally done for non-touch devices.

Also do check the depricated APIs list, as well as removed APIs list as well as compatibility break list from the Symbian^3 docs, there are not too many APIs that have been removed, but just in case you are using any of them, it is good to check them beforehand.
