Nokia surge restarts while exiting the application

I have an application written in QT for Symbian. If the app is used for a small duration (around 20-30 mins) also, on exiting the application, using right soft key, sometimes the phone restarts on its own. Also, I have observed this restart behaviour when application is running and I switch from normal to airplane/offline mode. I belive that this is happening when the phone is trying to release the application memory. Please suggest a solution to this problem. The memory is usage is around 3-4 MB.

You probably have some sort of error in your handling of heap storage, and it's causing some serious panics to be thrown.
