signsis file size limitation

The Ovi Store has a file size limitation of 350Mb for sis files.

However, playing with making a big sis file, I noticed that signsis starts failing when the unsigned sis packages hits around 250Mb.

The error message is: "memory error, cannot increase stream buffer size."
At first I thought it was my build machine running out of RAM, but on further investigation that does not seem to be the case.
The signsis.exe process itself approaches 1Gb in size, but does not appear to go over.


The signsis, from NokiaQtSDK appears to be:

Copyright (c) 2007 Symbian Software Ltd. All rights reserved.

I'll continue to investigate, but perhaps this is a known issue.
Any hints, workarounds?

Yes, it is a known issue. I will have to check what is the status of the expected fix ...

I was able to work around this by splitting the sis contents in two and making an embedded sis of the other part. signsis then went through signing the combined big sis, when the embedded one was already signed.
Next to see what does Ovi Store QA think of it...

Did not get that far. On N8 the installation fails, while it succeeds on C7.
Looking at the phone specs, I see N8 has "Maximum User Storage" 135 Mb, while C7 has 350 Mb.
The latter suspiciosly coincides with Ovi store max sis size...

What is the "Maximum User Storage" anyway? Is it perhaps maximum size of SIS that can be installed, among other things?
(I chose E: as installation target, which is 16Gb on N8 and 8Gb on C7)
