Multiple SE architecture and Applet Selection

In a multiple SE architecture where in SE access is prioritized by user in settings. How will applet be selected.? Is there some standard for that.

Lets assume we have two applets installed in a SE, So is it necessary that User select the Applet to use for transaction?? Or can it be done without user s knowledge, for example using Application Identifier??

Or it can be done at the reader end during Anti collison detection phase??

Are you talking about APDU (application protocol data unit) or something else?
Could you clrify a bit more what is the actuall question?
