How the UI is connected to the system core???

hey everybody ..,
I'm building a new GUI layer for s60 3rd edition (Created by DSA) as a part of graduation project ..
can anybody tell me how the UI is connected to the system core ?? ..
I'm working on the released open-source "kernel_taster_kit_for_see_2009"
how would my GUI be connected to this open source ??
so I can pass it to the iMaker tools & create a flashable image.

UI is not really connected to core, it is a layer that is on top of the core. Also what is that "kernel_taster_kit_for_see_2009" ?

sounds like some pre-open-source taster package.. anyway, have no idea on what would have been included. Anyway, I would not go linking anything to such a old package, in 2 years things have changed a lot indeed. Also if you are doing new UI components with DSA, surely you can just distribute them in open source manner, and/or as installable modules.

Note that you can't create a flashable firmware image out of any Symbian OS open source distribution for any Nokia device. You can only build flashable images for reference hardware such as the Beagleboard: http://beagleboard.org/
