Thread: Meego problems

  1. #1
    Hi,

I'm trying to build & run one of my existing Qt applications (previously designed for S60/S^3) on Meego using Qt SDK 1.1.2 and QEMU. Build process runs just fine, but then:

    1. The following error appears on packaging stage:

    Can't locate Debian/Debhelper/Dh_Lib.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8/msys /usr/lib/perl5/5.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8/msys /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8/msys /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8 .) at c:/qtsdk/madde/madbin/dh_clean line 10.
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at c:/qtsdk/madde/madbin/dh_clean line 10.

However, it seems that package file (.deb) was created successfully.

    2. Package installation process is as follows:

    (Reading database ...
35323 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace app 1.0.5 (using .../app_1_0_5_armel.deb) ...
    Unpacking replacement app ...
    No AEGIS_HASH_FDS environment
    No AEGIS_HASH_FDS environment
    No AEGIS_HASH_FDS environment
    No AEGIS_HASH_FDS environment
    Setting up app (1.0.5) ...
    Processing triggers for hicolor-icon-theme ...
    Package installed.

However application icon does not appear on desktop (I don't know, whether it should or not).

    3. Application startup log (in QEMU) looks as follows:

warning: aegisSessionOpen() - failed to open platsec device (ret=-1)
warning: aegisSessionOpen() - failed to open platsec device (ret=-1)
    loaded the Generic plugin
    loaded the grue plugin
    Loaded the MeeGo sensor plugin
Setting data rate 0 Hz (interval 0 ms) for "meego.orientationsensor"
    Segmentation fault (core dumped)

And that's all. I'm confused a little. I tried to google for aegisSessionOpen() errors, but nothing found. Has anyone experienced similar problems? My app uses Qt Mobility and Webkit, may be these problems are related to them?

This is not a total guess (as I am not familiar with Aegis and Harmattan Security) and might or might not help you, but have you checked the security documentation in the Harmattan API library?

Yes, I also suspect problem with security... I have tried different Aegis manifests for my app, no luck.

Problem is compounded by the fact that official Qt SDK examples are also doesn't run properly in my QEMU. They also have no Aegis manifests, so I have no real working example of these manifests (and I even don't know, do they matter something in my case). Does anyone know:

    1. Where to get simple, but really working example of Harmattan applications?
    2. Any Nokia plans for wider support of Harmattan in Qt SDK (non-experimental SDK, working examples, etc)?

    1) MeeGo.com forums have a number of pointers to applications. Some of them should have source code available as well, even though I have not checked that angle yet

I'll point out the aegis problems to the SDK team.

    2) In general the SDKs start to be final when the devices are getting out. I am guessing same thing happens with the MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan tools as well. The feedback (and bugs) from the field will be taken into account when creating the new versions of the tools.
