what is meant by Can't find any RVCT installation.?

I have recently installed Nokia_Symbian3_SDK_v1.0] SDK where as I used to use SDK v0.9 earlier.


When I try to build/Run a sample application.


It is shwoing a error


Can't find any RVCT installation.?


In the details of Error It is shwoing as"Failed to connect to USB:5. Be sure the Debug (CODA) service is available.
The communication port could not be opened. Either it is in use by another application or it does not exist on the system. OSError: Could not open the device"


But I have CODA logging ,TRK etc enabled in my device

it means that you don't have this non-free tool installed into your device. Anyway, make sure you have GCCE installed (its free, and included with SDKs), and build targets for GCCE only.

Also you have been here long enough to know that we have these different sections here for different technologies, so there is no point on posting Symbian tools questions at General discussions, when we indeed have a section for tools under the Symbian category..

Propably the SDK is just ok, and you are just trying to build for target that you have not installed tools for. Thus please pay attention on what has been said. i.e. simply start building for GCCE, and do make sure you did install the GCCE.

With some the latest SDK-s it is better to remove ARMV5 from the bld.inf file (PRJ_PLATFORMS section) if you do not have RVCT. In the past it raised a warning message only, but now it became an error.
It also applies to example codes in the SDK, downloadable examples, and perhaps to code generated by Carbide.c++: ARMV5 is often listed in them.
