    Hi all,

hopefully I have read all the already available threads in the forums, but after hours I am still not 'there'.

Today I have installed v1.0 of the N97 SDK on my Windows 7 x64 machine (I have Java and Perl installed).

First, I did read this article 'Using Nokia SDKs and Tools on Windows Vista' over here:
    http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...river_problems

I have DEP disabled (well, enabled only for essential Windows programs and services). This seems not to be the issue.

BTW, here is my log file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2325699/epocwind.out

Does anybody see any big issue there?
    Thanks!

I would guess that its about your audio driver, so if you have some high-definiton-audio driver thing there, you could try disabling it.

If I try to launch the browser I get:
    "Application closed: Main KERN-EXEC 3"

My PC has network access and there is no proxy server configured.
    Any idea?

I suppose the browser is then crashing there for some reason, anyway does it work for your own application ?

You could check the logfile again. Either shut the emulator down quickly after the browser dies, or launch the emulator directly with the browser (epoc32\release\winscw\udeb\browserng.exe perhaps). With this latter approach the emulator will die with the browser, so the last lines of the logfile will/may tell about the problem.

Directly starting the browser worked. Strange, but thanks for the hint.

Hm, still not 'there'. I now have my .wgz. I start the emulator, start my app... and get the "KERN-EXEC 3" again...
Any idea where I could look? It seems to be an issue with the core browser.

I wonder why you would not simply use the simulator shipped with SDK ? its faster and probably better for debugging as well.

SDK emulators can be tricky, and the problem could be in your code, or in the emulator's browser environment, so if you want to debug it, you would need to start with very simple hello world, and add different functionality until you get it crashing again.
