Transparent background on homescreen widgets?

Hi,
I am developing widgets using nokia wrt and have managed to display home-screen specific content.
I am using Nokia Web App Simulator as well as manually deploying and testing the app on my Nokia 701 running Nokia Belle fp1.

I want the homescreen-specific view of the widget to have a transparent background, I tried using background-color:transparent on the div which is being displayed on homescreen but to no avail.
Does anyone know how do I achieve this?

To my knowledge this is not possible to achieve with WRT widgets.
