OMA bootstrap setting for nokia 6220 and 6600

Hello,

Anyone have sent oma bootstrap setting to nokia 6600?

Can anyone tell if oma bootstrap setting that works with nokia 6220 will work directly also with nokia 6600;
or some change it is necessary?

Hello!

Same settings should work. I did some test runs using same XML document for both devices and it worked just fine.

we were doing testing on the 6220 and found that there seems to be a limit for 4 settings sent onto the device.
can u confirm if this is the case or a bug?

Hello,
I have been making test with 6220.
And have been able to send with success up to 10 settings.

That error you tell seems to be an error in the phone,
probably needs a firmware upgrade,
as this phone is still a prototype.

The setup document that I used on Nokia 6220 did not do so great on the Nokia 6600. 6600 accepted the settings document, but rejected the MMS part and complains about a missing home page. So I guess there are some differences (or bugs in the 6220, which died on me)

Hello,
I need some help with oma setting for nokia 6600.


When sending GPRS setting to nokia 6600, the phone anwser with message:
Can not open. Message format not supported.

The same setting sent to nokia 6220 works OK.

Does 6600 uses a different port for setting?
or a different mimetype ?
Please, any idea or help.

Is there a document for oma provisioning 6600 ?
I only have oma provisioning document for series 40 and nokia 5100.

The sample I am working on is working on standard ports. However, it accepts both OMA settings and NOKIA OTA 7.0 settings. Have you tried the "old" NOKIA OTA 7.0 format ?

Hi!

As I have mentioned earlier, same document works for Nokia 6600 and Nokia 6220, there is no difference.

Have a look to LATEST version of Client Provisioning for S40 document.

yes, I am using the same xml structured document as for the 6220. No, I haven´t seen any 6600 specific text. I can however not delete the settings in the Nokia 6600 with the standard code (*#38.. etc) given for 6220/5100 phones, so the hole OMA structure can't be the same for this phone as the others regarding security.

OK,
now with the port 0B 84 I am able to send both 6220 and 6600.

About the example in appendix B:

- Why now there is no PXLOGICAL section?

- Can we have a working example xml file with real data for a GPRS setting for nokia 6600?

Hello!

There is no need to refer/create PXLOGICAL if there is no proxy in use. So in every application (w2, w4 and so on) you can refer directly to NAPDEF. In case you need to use proxy, you need to refer to PXLOGICAL that refers to some specified NAPDEF.

Now I am trying the MMS setting,
but i´m not able to send mms it tries to conect but then disconnects.

Do I have to put the gprs setting and the mms setting in the same xml file?


Is it possible to paste here an mms sample?
