Computer Animation to Nokia screensaver???

Hi guys,

I'm a Computer Animator who recently got a request from client to convert his animation into some other version- Mobile phone's screen saver.

Can someone tell me how to go about it in detail?

So far, I've not seen any Nokia phones that supports screensaver, but it also depends on how you define a screensaver:-

i) The animation you see when you are booting up
ii) The animation you see when you leave the phone idle for some time
iii) The animation you see when you are switching off the phone

For Nokia phones, such features are usually not available if not very rare, since I don't have all their devices to check :-P

But for Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Samsung, such personal customization features are elaborately supported, which is something I believe Nokia is seriously lacking behind.

Hi,

I'm aware of your opinion. In fact, the client even requested for the service to be available for every major brands such as Sony, Motorola.

You have any idea of the application required to do that?

I'm afraid there is no way to write a screen saver for most (no?) Nokia phones in Java.

For a commercial Java API, you can find a good one to deal with all image formats for the handsets you could work with, and even screensavers of format .nlm and others, pls check: http://www.unwiredtec.com/wmcreator.shtml
