Java from Symbian C++

Hi,

Is it possible to call Java functions from C++ (Series 60) ? - any example would be appreciated.
-sorry if this question may be stupid but I am a newbie in Java ...

Java in running on a virtual machine, so there should no way to call functions from outside.

But it would be very interesting to know if it is possible to call complete Java application from a C++ Program.

Does anybody know, if there is a way to tell the Java interpreter to run a jar-file by a given filename without installing it the normal way?
