    Besides the mobile phone hardware, such as PC(x86)?
    symbian除了能支持手机系列的硬件平台，还能支持其他的硬件平台吗？比如pc(X86)或者其他专用硬件平台？

    Symbian OS是专门为受电源限制的小型设备设计的操作系统，并能支配广泛范围的移动通信功能。它无法安装在pc上，我们平时所用的Symbian OS c++开发，只是在pc上模拟了一个Symbian OS环境，操作系统平台仍然还是Windows或Linux。但Symbian OS可以使用在例如PDA、通信器等小型信息设备上。

    Symbian是运行在内存受限供电受限的小型设备上的操作系统，他可以被安装在手机或PDA设备上，就像微软的WinCE，是不可以运行在x86上的。

    其实什么东西都是相对的……
    他是为了那些条件受限的系统设计的，但是如果真正编译在x86平台上，也是可以跑的，WINS的模拟器不就是么。
    可是，就像你不会用洗脚盆来盛酱油一样，没有哪个人会花钱完美刀成为SymbianLicensee然后把它编译在x86上面跑的……

    希望我的比喻是贴切的
