image comparison

hello!
How can i compare two bitmap images or two gif images??
is there any built in function or do i have to convert them into a buffer and then check every pixel value?

AFAIK there is no ready made functions for doing this, anyway, you could propably read the scanlines of the bitmaps and compare them, and get it work quiter easily.
