MIDlet Signing (URGENT -- PLEASE HELP ME NOKIA EXPERTS)

I wrote a midlet applicaiton. The midlet is written such that it is supported both in MIDP 1.0 and 2.0.

When the user try to download it from the client site they get the message "When customers download MIDlet they get the following message, "Application XXXXXXXX is untrusted. Continue anyway?"
(on some phones the error message doesn't appear)

Is this error coming from the fact that the midlet has not been signed? How can I sign it. I read a document about midlet signing from your site but it was for MIDP 2.0 phones. Are those the phones that is giving me the gripe? If I sign the phone using thawte will the error go away for both MIDP1.0 and 2.0 series60 phone? Please help me nokia guys... My client is breathing down my back! I need a solution!!!

If it matters, what root certificates are installed for each phone?
