Phone Number

Does anyone know whether it is possible to retrieve the mobile phone number of the phone you are running a Java app on? This can be MDIP2 or if there is an extension JSR for it.

Or at at push can I retrieve the IMEI number from MIDP2 or a JSR extension.

No (the phone's phone number might be on the SIM card, but in probably 99.99% of cases it isn't, because it isn't needed/used for anything). And the SIM toolkit APIs are not documented in the public SDK (nor are they accessible from MIDP Java in any case).

If you need your app to know the user's phone number, have the program ask the user for it.
