Downloaded 3gp file and it saved as a "NOTE"

Can anyone please help, I want to download .3gp video files as opposed to viewing streaming video. I posted myfile.3gp on the server and typed in the url in the phones browser. It comes as a "NOTE" and with the option to save it. When I save it and try to play it it does not play. Any Help out there.
