PNG icons and transparency on 9500

I am having trouble with the PNG (true color and alpha-channel) icon for my application. I have included the icon in my jar-file and reference it in the manifest.

The problem is that the Nokia 9500 seems to invert the alpha-channel. That is areas which should be transparent are drawn in black and opaque areas are transparent. Is this a bug in the 9500 and is there a fix?
