how should i proceed with my camera app

i am trying a camera application where i want to set the path for the snapped picture. but i have seen that the 'PathInfo' has some defined member functions which sets the path. Is there a possibility to set the path ourselves by writing our own member function and other means. how should i proceed ...

hi,

create ur own imgs folder in c/e drive.save img file in this folder using RFile(to csave files) ,Rfs(to make directories)
u get lots of inf on rfiles...in sdk help.."how to use files"

Hi giridharn,

In the RFile class i havent found any functions for saving the image in the choice of the user.
If i create my own directory path and want to save the snapped image in that, how can i retrieve the path that was created by me. Are there any functions thru which i can get the path...

ok, if that is the case.......
suppose u get the snapped img in "ibitmap"

_LIT(KMypath,"c:\sys\apps\myfolder\img.mbm");

then save it to this folder as ibitmap->save(KMypath);
here,img gets daved as mbm..if u want to save it as jpg/gif/bmp
u plzz chk cimagedecoder/cimageecoder classes

Hi,

In my app i have 3 menu options, based on the selection i need to set the path for saving the file into 3 diff paths.so should i create three _ LIT() for those 3 paths.
Q: how can i get the path of the dir that was created by me in some c:\ drive ?
Q: can we have a submenu for another submenu?
ex: Symbian-> Development-> UI
submenu submenu
If so how can we do that.

jusz an example,
u create a menu with menuitems path1,path2,path3..when ur clicks on path1 ,forma path there
in appui--under handlecommandl for each path1menu item --use this with diff path
TBUf<path> path1;
path1.Copy(_L("\\sys\\apps\\mypath\\path1"));
CompleteWithAppPAth(path1);
#ifdef __WINS__
path1.Insert(0,_L("C"));

now,pass this buffer to func called saveimg(TDesc& aimgpath)---assume this function saves imgs to given path
